![]() When I go hiking, I can walk a day and a half on it (when used sparingly), and therefore only need to charge my phone in the evening on a camp you use dd with Linux, the disk should not be mounted. I think the maps are updated every 2 weeks or month or so, but I never really bothered to pay much attention to that. ![]() Maps are also free, and are taken from Open Streetmaps, as also a lot of other navigation devices do nowadays. The free precompiled versions are somtimes limited to a download of 3 maps (sometimes whole countries), but for easy access to Worldwide maps it's well worth paying a few EUR. ![]() The program is Free (as in Open Source), but there are also paid versions, which give you a warm fuzzy feeling in your belly. This works with downloadable maps, so there is no wireless communication needed during use. (Open Street Map Android Navigation Device).
